This oil painting by William Darling MacKay, depicts a scene at Kilspindie golf course, early one autumnal morning. A group of golfers can be seen standing on the course, next to the foreshore. The village of Aberlady can just be seen in the background.
William Darling MacKay was born in Gifford in 1844. His love of nature and the beauty of East Lothian's countryside is reflected in the pastoral artwork that he produced. He died in Edinburgh in 1924.
