Candleriggs Stone Lintol: Accession No. 2010.5

This is a worked stone lintel. It has an been carved with “IT …. ID 1599” and what looks like candles drying is carved into it. It was stored in the East Lothian Council Architectural Salvage Yard for over 20 years and is understood to have come from the old Candleriggs at the bottom of Dunbar Road in Haddington, near Bothwell Castle.
