This black and white photograph shows the pipe band of a North Berwick troop of Boy Scouts.
The pipers of North Berwick Boy Scout Troop are pictured giving an open air performance in this black and white photograph. All the boys are dressed in their Scout uniforms - khaki shirts, kilts and beret hats.
Baden Powell founded the Scouting Movement in the early years of the 20th century. The organisation provided educational and recreational activities for boys between the ages of eleven and eighteen. Sub-divisions of the movement were later created to allow girls and younger boys to become involved in similar groups.
