Details
The sands just to the east of North Berwick harbour have long been a popular place for a day on the beach, although even here windbreaks helped against prevailing summer westerly winds. This photograph was made into a postcard for a local newsagent in the 1960s when the resort's popularity was at its height.
This is a colour printed view postcard. The scene is a beach in a bay closed by a headland crossing the background. There are groups of people on the sands, many sheltering beside striped canvas windbreaks, some marked NBTC.
