Details
This photograph shows the departure of two bus-loads of day trippers from Wiles Garage, Port Seton in 1955. Many holidaymakers arrived in East Lothian by train and bus. Local transport companies offered day trips from one resort to others nearby or to places of interest further afield.
This Bedford DB coach was owned by Wiles of Port Seton. The company promoted day trips during the summer months to nearby coastal resorts and was popular with holidaymakers at nearby Seton Sands Camp. Some of the trips offered were as far afield as Stirling, the Trossachs, or even Blackpool for the illuminations.
