This record sleeve was made for a Haddington shop and is printed with advertising for the business. They were retailers of record players (Gramophones), records, and radios (Wireless), a department that had grown out of the principal business, which had hitherto been stationery and photography.
This is a record sleeve made of blue card. There is a cut-out disc in the centre of the face and on the displayed side there is advertising text for INGRAM, GORDON & CO of Haddington.
Electrical goods retailers appeared in every town during the first half of the 20th century. Sometimes these were new businesses dealing in all manner of electrical goods and their repair and service. Often, however, an electrical department was added to an existing business.
